Fibocom attends Connected Vehicle 2020 in India

On March 3-5, the Connected Vehicle 2020 event tookplace in Bangalore, India. The Fibocom India team was present at booth #69, showcasingwireless communication solutions to promote local Internet of Vehicles (IoV) applications.

India is an emerging market for IoVapplications. Thanks to the development of the internet, improved networkcapacity and stability, and the convenience of IoV applications, local users ofsuch applications are increasing.

Advanced DriverAssistance Systems (ADAS):supported by deeplearning and computer vision, the built-in DMS camera can detect vehicles,pedestrians and lanes in front of you while you are driving. When the systemdetects potential collision hazards or lane departure events, it will send anaudio warning. Visual management of vehicles are also made possible withconnections to the cloud server via a 4G network.

Digital VideoRecorder (DVR):it records andstores driving speed, time, mileage, positions, and other vehicle stateinformation. Such data may be output by communication means to protect driversduring travels.

On-Board Diagnostics(OBD):the system monitors the running status of theengine and the exhaust gas processing device 24/7. When it is detected thatemissions may exceed standards or that there may be a system fault, OBD storesthe operating status and fault information in memory, which can then beuploaded to the cloud through communication modules.

Smart RearviewMirrors:with an independentoperating system and independent running space, each smart rearview mirrorallows users to install applications from third-party providers such assoftware, games, and navigation. Meanwhile, the mirrors also support wirelessnetwork access via Wi-Fi or mobile communication networks. Other features ofthe intelligent rearview mirrors include: driving records, GPS, electronicspeed reminders, visual reversing, Bluetooth calls, real-time online audio/videoentertainment, and more.

5G+ C-V2X

Moreover, Fibocom isalso accelerating the introduction of 5G wireless communication modules to 5G+C-V2X scenarios. For unmanned driving, navigation information, locationinformation and sensor data can be transmitted to the cloud or other vehicle devicesin real-time when there are 5G networks, thus making IoV possible. Efficientand stable wireless transmission is a prerequisite for the personal andproperty safety of drivers.
