Fibocom has officially launched its global 5G Dongle ST151L, which has obtained CE certification and is now available for sale in global markets. As a new addition to Fibocom’s 5G mobile broadband portfolio, ST151L is built on the Qualcomm SM4450 platform. It integrates high-speed 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi sharing, and network management capabilities, providing a lighter and more flexible 5G access option for mobile working, cross-border travel, and flexible network deployment.
Designed for Global Markets: From Network Compatibility to Market Access
For a mobile communication device targeting global markets, global readiness means more than supporting a wider range of frequency bands. It also requires the product to adapt to different regional network environments and meet local market access requirements.
ST151L supports 18 5G Sub-6 GHz bands, SA/NSA network architectures, and mainstream 4G networks worldwide. Its theoretical peak downlink speed in 5G NSA mode reaches up to 2.5 Gbps, providing high-speed cellular connectivity for mobile working, multi-device sharing, and temporary network access.
For SIM configuration, ST151L supports both eSIM and Nano SIM. Users can flexibly select connectivity options based on local operator networks and service requirements, providing more network choices for cross-regional use, international business travel, and global device deployment.
ST151L has also obtained CE certification, providing a compliance foundation for entering Europe and other key markets. With its network compatibility and market access capabilities, ST151L further strengthens the connectivity and certification capabilities required for global sales.
Three Network Roles in One Dongle
As mobile network applications continue to diversify, dongles are no longer limited to providing data connectivity for a single device.
ST151L integrates three operating modes into one device: direct PC connection, Wi-Fi hotspot, and router uplink. This allows the same device to switch between different network roles according to the operating environment.
When connected to a computer, ST151L provides direct 5G connectivity through its USB Type-C interface. It supports driver-free operation on Windows, macOS, and Linux devices, making it suitable for business travel, customer sites, and other scenarios requiring quick network access.
When multiple users need to share a network connection, ST151L can be powered independently through a power adapter or power bank and operate as a Wi-Fi hotspot. It supports up to 16 simultaneous device connections, allowing smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices to share a 5G network.
In homes, small offices, or temporary network deployment environments, ST151L can also provide a 5G uplink for routers. This adds flexible cellular access to an existing local area network without requiring the deployment of a new fixed broadband connection.
From direct connectivity for a single device to multi-device sharing and network uplink, ST151L further expands the applications of the dongle form factor. It allows 5G connectivity to adapt more flexibly to different devices and network environments.
Beyond Connectivity: Making Networks Manageable

ST151L features a built-in Web UI management interface. Users can monitor network status and configure APN, eSIM, Wi-Fi, and other network settings through a browser. It also supports band locking, cell locking, and connected-device management.
For operators, device brands, and enterprise customers, the Web UI can be customized to meet specific requirements. API access is also supported, providing flexibility for customers to further develop their own products and services.
For network security, ST151L supports two VPN protocols, OpenVPN and WireGuard. It also provides firewall, port forwarding, DMZ, domain filtering, and MAC address filtering capabilities. These features offer more comprehensive network management and security capabilities for mobile working and enterprise network access.
From Standard Devices to PCBA: More Flexible Product Integration
With the official launch of ST151L, Fibocom offers both a standard finished device and a PCBA solution. These options address different customer needs, from rapid product introduction to customized development.
Customers seeking faster market entry can directly adopt the standard ST151L device. Operators, device brands, and enterprise customers with their own branding and product plans can use the PCBA solution for further customization of industrial design (ID), Web UI, and APIs. This helps reduce repetitive development efforts associated with building the underlying hardware from scratch.
