Fibocom Responded to Alleged Security Threats about its Modules

Shenzhen, China – September 10^th 2023 – Fibocom (Stock code: 300638), a global leading provider of IoT (Internet of Things) wireless solutions and wireless communication modules, responded to the public letter sent to FCC from the Select Committee of the US Congress and the reply from FCC about whether Fibocom modules pose a potential security risk.

Fibocom’s products are a component and not able to work independently. They are only functional after being integrated into an original equipment manufacturer (“OEM”) device. Fibocom’s components, under the control of OEM device, could help to enable network data communication for an OEM device together with cellular carrier, however, the module itself can not analyze, process or use any data in the communication link.

Key components and services adopted in the Fibocom modules, such as the chipsets and software platforms, are coming from Qualcomm. Fibocom and Qualcomm have established an important partnership over the past decades.
